Description: The loquat tree is originated from China and Japan, but its cultivation is very frequent in Portugal. This tree was planted in a vegetable garden shared by the neighborhood residents. In this garden other different species were cultivated for people’s own use and to be commercialized such as potatoes, onions, cassava, sugar cane, beans, and corn.
