Description: This plant has its origin in China and Japan. Its plantation is also common in Portugal. In the Quinta da Vitoria neighborhood, the doors were frequently decorated with mango or Loquat leaves (replacing the mango leaves) setting a toran.
The Toran is a set of mango leaves disposed sequentially. The leaves are stitched and placed in the upper part of the main entrance. This a mean of evoking Lakshmi, goddess of health, love, prosperity and beauty. This is a way of protecting the people visiting the house and the family itself.
