Description: The fig tree is originally from tropical zones, but its cultivation is also very frequent in the Mediterranean regions. In the neighborhood of Quinta da Vitória there are still several trees. According to the Hindu tradition, dried figs purify the blood when left in milk overnight and eaten in the morning. (*)

Present Location: Vitória Garden Collection (although there is a will to transplant this Fig tree to the garden, its dimension associated with the technical difficulties, have made it impossible for its transplanting. Thus, it remains there nowadays after the demolition of the neighborhood. It has become part of the landscape of the neighborhood of Quinta da Vitória).
